Shipwrecked on Skye

Skye Accommodation are having fine weather on the Isle of Skye, frosty mornings, pink sunrises and blue skies throughout the day. It is a real boost in February, any tourists visiting are able to experience our Skye in all it’s glory.  After a visit to our local supermarket we decided rather than go straight home we would go a short drive to Heaste a small township 5 miles from Broadford.  It had been a few years since we had made the trip.  The views are glorious, you can see over to Kinloch and Ord.   We drove down to the shore, I walked a short distance around the headland and discovered an old wreck. I was interested to learn a bit more about it.   It turned out to be the Mary Grimes  a wood Lugger built in 1870 and sunk in 1893.  We don’t need to drive too far to get that holiday feeling, we are so lucky to live in such a magical place.  Come and find the magic for yourself.
